Reserve San Callixtus before travelling#

Individual visitors and groups of up to 15 people must book and buy through the link on the official reservation page. Larger groups follow a separate request process and wait for confirmation. Do not build your day around an assumed walk-up sale, especially when the underground visit is the main reason for travelling out.

Official entry and the reseller bundle are different products#

The official site lists standard admission at €10 and concessions at €7, with online sales handled through Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi. Check the exact concession rules and the official booking channel first, rather than assuming the price of a city-walk bundle is the basic catacomb entrance charge.

The featured WeGoTrip package currently lists €21.27. It combines San Callixtus admission with an independent app-based city walk. The ticket information also names a 40-minute guided visit, but the downloadable audio does not operate as a guide inside the catacombs.

Keep the underground visit separate from the city audio walk#

The app route is for exploring Rome between its stops. It is not commentary to play while walking through the underground burial passages. Follow the venue’s guided-visit arrangements inside, then use the city route independently when you are back outside.

The walking route mentions other catacomb sites and landmarks, but admission to attractions along the way is excluded. A route stop at Domitilla or another site is not an included ticket. This page’s featured admission is specifically for the Catacombs of Saint Callixtus.

Plan the journey as well as the entrance#

San Callixtus is on Via Appia Antica. Treat the journey and the booked visit as separate parts of the day: arrange how you will get there, leave time to find the entrance and keep the reservation available. Larger groups should wait for the venue’s confirmation instead of treating a submitted request as a booking.

Transfer is excluded from the featured ticket, and earphones are not supplied for the city walk. Bring the equipment needed for the app, but do not expect a driver, a continuously accompanying guide or entry to every landmark named in the route.

Compare your options#

What to compare before booking
OptionWhat to check
Official San Callixtus reservationUse the official reservation process for the venue visit and follow the group-size conditions. A request for a larger party needs confirmation; it is not the same as buying an individual ticket.
Entry with an independent city walkChoose the bundle only if you also want its separate city audio route. The underground visit follows the ticket’s guided-visit arrangements, while the app component remains outside the catacombs.

Plan your visit#

Read the venue’s visitor rules before reserving and check which process applies to your group. Contact the venue if the required larger-group confirmation has not arrived, rather than arriving with only a request form.

Keep the downloaded ticket separate from the city-walk navigation so you can find it quickly at entry. Do not try to use the audio-route screen as proof of admission to a different catacomb complex.

Frequently asked questions#

Does the app provide an audio guide inside San Callixtus?

No. The merchant expressly excludes an audio tour inside the Catacombs of Saint Callixtus. Its downloadable commentary is the separate city-walking component.

Does this package include transport from central Rome?

No transfer is included. Arrange the journey independently and allow enough time to arrive for the venue reservation.
