Florence Cathedral ticketswhich pass opens what
Choose between three passes for the Dome, Bell Tower and museum complex. Each pass has its own timed entrance and three-day validity, so start with the monument you most want to visit.

Decide what you actually want to climb#
Entry to the Cathedral itself is free under the official conditions; the Dome, the Bell Tower, the Baptistery and the museum are ticketed and bundled into three official passes. Start from what you want to see — the climb, the view, or the artworks — and the right pass follows from that, not the other way round.

Prices from the official Opera web shop, observed 2026-10-15. Passes are valid three calendar days from the first booked visit; each monument admits once per pass.
The dome slot is mandatory and fixed#
Each pass starts with a fixed booking: the Dome for Brunelleschi, the Bell Tower for Giotto, and Santa Reparata for Ghiberti. The official FAQ says the booked slot cannot be changed or cancelled. Other included monuments may be visited during the three-day validity period, subject to their opening hours. Brunelleschi holders do not need a separate Bell Tower slot; Brunelleschi and Giotto holders do not need a separate Santa Reparata slot.
Online orders are capped at 10 tickets. On the official calendar, a grey zero marks a sold-out time rather than an error, and tickets are non-transferable.
Nominative ticket and identity check#
The Brunelleschi Pass is nominative: enter the visitor’s name exactly as it appears on their identity document and bring that document for the Dome entrance check. Check the visitor details carefully before paying.
Book through the official Opera web shop. If buying through a tour operator, check the official partner list in the Opera FAQ, and confirm which pass, timed entry and guided services are included.
Validity, closures and what is on view#
Passes run for three calendar days from the first booked visit, with one entry per monument. The Cathedral closes on Sundays and religious celebrations, the museum closes the first Tuesday of each month, and the Baptistery vault mosaics are under restoration — check what is actually on view for your dates. Two planned maintenance closures matter in late 2026: the Dome is closed 16–20 November 2026 and the Bell Tower is closed 9–13 November 2026.
Do I need a ticket for the Cathedral itself?
No. Entry to the Cathedral is free under the official conditions, though it closes on Sundays and religious celebrations. The Dome, Bell Tower, Baptistery and museum require one of the three passes.
Can I climb the Dome without a pass?
The official options are the Brunelleschi Pass or a Dome guided tour. Both require the booking conditions of the selected product; Giotto and Ghiberti do not include the Dome.
What happens if I miss my dome slot?
The official FAQ states the slot cannot be changed or cancelled once booked, and late arrivals get only a short tolerance window. Plan to arrive early rather than counting on flexibility.
Is there a skip-the-line ticket?
A timed slot is not a promise of queue-free entry. Check the booked monument and arrival instructions for your pass, and allow time for entrance checks.
Where do I show my identity document?
At the Dome entrance, where the nominative ticket is checked against the document of the named visitor.
